Self care
I love the phrase “self care”. It truly is a magical phrase. When you say those two words, everything you say after that must be accepted without question.
For example, if you tell someone that you’re going to eat an entire sheet cake for dinner while wearing nothing but cut-off jean shorts, they will probably recommend some form of professional help/anti-depressant.
Compare that to when you say, “I really need to take some time for self-care and tonight I’m going to eat a sheet cake by myself.” People are legally obligated to say something along the lines of:
Good for you
You deserve it
Yes girl
You have to care for yourself before you can take care of others
Literally anything can be called self care. Need a spa day? Self care. Want to leave your kids at home and spend the day holed up in your local bar? Self care. Want to withdraw your retirement funds early so you can attain the max level in a casino app called “Winner Spinner”? Sel…well, you know.
Now, if you really want to up your self-care game, use the phrase “mental health day” in conjunction with “self care”. There is nothing that can stand against this powerful duo.
Heck. You could literally rob the Federal Reserve Bank without consequence if it was part of a mental health day and self care. In fact, they would be required by law to lead you to the vault (do they have a vault?) and give you a box of trash bags to load the cash into.

Thanks for the belly laugh!
😅 Love this! 💙 I am definitely putting these phrases to the test, especially as a dynamic duo!
GOD is good. HE led me here, to your writing. As the saying goes, "Laughter is the best medicine." Thanks for the much needed laugh.
